Privacy policy
What data we collect, why, for how long and what rights you have. Provided under Articles 13 and 14 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679.
This is a translation provided for convenience. The Italian version is the governing text. Nothing in this translation restricts any right granted to you by Regulation (EU) 2016/679.
- The apps work with no account and no registration.
- What you enter into the apps stays in your phone's storage.
- We use no analytics, profiling or advertising tools, neither on the site nor in the apps.
- The only data that leaves your phone concerns verifying the Pro purchase.
- The contact form collects only what you type into it.
1. Data controller

No data protection officer has been appointed: none of the cases in which Article 37 of the Regulation makes one mandatory applies here.
2. Browsing this website
Connection data
The server hosting this website records, as any web server does, the requests it receives: IP address, date and time, the address of the page requested, the outcome of the request, and the browser and operating system declared. This data is not linked to an identified user and is not used to build profiles.

Language and cookies
This site uses no profiling cookies, includes no analytics tools and loads no resource from third-party servers: fonts, stylesheets and images are all served from this same domain. Only two cookies are set, both technical: the one remembering your chosen language, and the session cookie on the contact page.
On your first visit, if you have not yet chosen a language, the site reads the
Accept-Language header sent by your browser in order to decide whether to show
you the Italian or the English version. It is read on the spot, the value is not stored, and
it is used for nothing else. See the cookie policy for details.
3. Contact form
When you submit the form we collect your name, email address, subject, the app you may have named, and the text of your message. There is no other field, and nothing is inferred or enriched from outside sources.

Every message received is recorded on our server and, where the mailbox is configured, forwarded to the business address. We also record, for one hour, a value derived from your IP address through a hash function: it serves solely to limit repeated submissions from the same connection. The IP address itself is not retained in clear.
4. The applications
What stays on your phone
SMP MicroApps applications require no registration and have no accounts. Everything you enter — in TrashCan's case: calendars, waste types, collection rules, exceptions, reminder times and preferences — is saved in a local database in your device's storage, protected by the app isolation Android and iOS provide. This data is never transmitted to us, we cannot see it and we cannot recover it for you: uninstall the app without having exported, and it is gone. The only thing you type that reaches us, if you choose so, is the prices and warnings you report in Risparmia Benzina Gasolio, described below.
Notifications are scheduled by the phone's operating system and their content passes through no server. We use no remote push notifications. The widget reads the same local data.
Boomerang's return reminders and Pari e Patta's (Even Steven in English) reminders are local notifications, scheduled on the phone like all the others. The Pari e Patta widget shows the totals on the Home screen by reading the app's data, which stays on the phone and is not sent to us or to anyone else.
The export function produces a file that you choose where to save or whom to send it to. At that point the data leaves the app because you asked it to, and from then on its processing depends on the service you chose to store or share it with.
Some apps use your phone's camera or photos, and only when you ask them to: Film Tracker for photos of your rolls, QR Me to read a QR code by pointing the camera at it or picking an image, Boomerang for a photo of a lent item. Images are processed on the phone only: QR codes are read by a library built into the app that connects to no outside service, Boomerang's item photos stay inside the app, and no image is ever sent to us or to anyone else.
Scorte Calore, in the Pro version, can write the reorder date as an event in your phone's calendar, and only when you ask it to. Permission to access the calendar is requested at that moment, and the event (the fuel, the name you gave the heat source and the estimated date) goes into the calendar you choose among those on the phone. We never receive it. If that calendar is synced with an account, for example iCloud or Google, the event follows that service's sync, under its own privacy policy. The app moves or removes it only when you ask.
Spending Review can read price tags (and scale labels) from a photo, and only when you ask. The text is read only on the phone, with an engine built into the app on Android and with the system text recognition on iPhone: the photo is not sent to us or to anyone else, and it is deleted after reading. The text that was read is not saved: only the name and price you confirm are kept.
QR Me Pro can create a QR code for the Wi-Fi you are connected to. To read the network name, Android and iOS require the location permission: the app asks for it only at that moment, reads the network name and nothing else, and never records or sends your location. You paste the network password yourself. In the same way, your contact card or someone else's is picked from the system contact picker, without permission to read your address book: the app only receives the contact you tap and keeps it on the phone.
Fair Share, Boomerang and Pari e Patta (Even Steven) let you pick people from your contacts: the system contact picker opens and the app only receives the name and number of the person you tap, without permission to read your address book. Name and number stay in the app, on the phone. When you ask to remind someone or, in Boomerang, to ask for an item back, the app opens your messaging app or WhatsApp with the text already written: it sends nothing on its own, the message leaves only if you send it, and from then on it follows the policy of the service you chose.
Puntina uses your phone's location only while the app is open, and only when you save a place or look at the distance and direction to a saved place, including on the app's first screen. The permission it asks for is "while using the app": location is never used in the background. The saved point (the coordinates and their accuracy) stays in the app's database, on the phone, and is not sent to us or to anyone else; distance and direction are calculated on the phone, and there is no map in the app. To determine the location, the phone uses its own location service, which, depending on the system settings, may use GPS, Wi-Fi networks and mobile cells and rely on Apple's or Google's location services, under their own privacy policies (see Apple's and Google's). The coordinates leave the app only when you ask: "Open in Maps" passes them to the maps app you choose, and "Share" to the app you choose, and from then on they follow that service's policy. The parking timer uses local notifications, and the camera and photos are used only when you add a photo to a place.
Risparmia Benzina Gasolio (available in Italy only) shows the fuel prices of the filling stations around you. It uses your phone's location only while the app is open, with the "while using the app" permission, and never in the background; if you do not grant the permission you can search for a town instead, and the search runs on a list that is already inside the app. Distances, the area's average price, the cost of driving to a station and the saving are calculated on the phone only: your location is not sent to us or to anyone else. To determine it, the phone uses its own location service, which may rely on Apple's or Google's services as described above for Puntina. The vehicles you enter (consumption and tank size), your favourite stations and your preferences stay in the app, on the phone.
To get the prices, the app downloads once a day from our server a public file, the same for everyone, with the prices and the details of the filling stations across Italy, taken from the open data of the Italian Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy (IODL 2.0 licence). The request contains neither your location nor any other personal data, only the app's name and version and a reference to the file already downloaded, so that it is not downloaded again if it has not changed. As with any download, the server receives the IP address of the connection, which is needed to deliver the file, but for these files access logging is switched off: the address is not kept. A station's coordinates leave the app only when you tap "Open in Maps", which passes them to the phone's maps app, and from then on they follow that service's policy. The optional "Support me with 2 coffees" purchase unlocks no feature and follows the same rules as the Pro version described below.
Price reports (from version 2.0.0). If you choose to report the prices you see at a filling station, the app sends our server the station, the prices you typed and an anonymous code created by the app (not linked to your name, your phone or your purchases). The time is recorded by the server. If you tap "Wrong price?", the app sends the station, the item you point out and the same code. Your location is used only to check on the phone that you are within 300 m of the station and is not sent. The server does not record your IP address: it uses it only in memory, for a few minutes, to limit abuse. The code is kept in encrypted (non-reversible) form only to apply the limits and the confirmation rules. Reported prices are public, with no data about who sent them. Everything is deleted automatically after 48 hours. Reporting is optional: if you do not, the app sends nothing. Legal basis: your request (Article 6(1)(b) of the Regulation) and, for the anti-abuse limits, our legitimate interest in keeping the prices reliable (Article 6(1)(f)).
"Closed / out of fuel" warnings and past prices (from version 2.2.0). If you choose to report that a filling station is closed or has run out of a fuel, the app sends our server the station, the type of warning and the same anonymous code used for price reports; the time is recorded by the server. As for prices, your location is used only to check on the phone that you are within 300 m and is not sent, and your IP address is not recorded. Warnings are public, with no data about who sent them, and are deleted automatically after 24 hours (earlier, if someone then reports the prices of that station). Same legal basis as price reports. To show a station's past prices (the chart on its page and the small line for the last month in the list) the app downloads further public files from our server, derived from the same Ministry open data and identical for everyone: when you open a station's page, a file containing about 90 stations spread all over Italy (so the request does not reveal which one you are looking at); for the list, a single file with the last month for all of Italy. What is said above for the price file applies: none of your data in the request and the access log is disabled.
"Plan a trip" and charging stations (from version 2.1.0). In "Plan a trip" the starting point and the destination stay on the phone: the filling stations along the way are worked out by the phone and the trip is not saved (it disappears when you close the app). If you search for a municipality, the search runs in the list already inside the app. If you tap "Search the address", the text you typed is looked up by the phone's maps service (Apple on iPhone, Google or the manufacturer on Android), under their own privacy policies: the app never sends it your location and nothing reaches us. "Then take me to the destination" passes the destination's coordinates to the maps app you choose, like "Open in Maps". If you choose the "Electric" mode, the app downloads from our server a second public file, the same for everyone, with the charging stations across Italy taken from OpenStreetMap (© OpenStreetMap contributors, ODbL 1.0 licence): what is said above for the price file applies (none of your data in the request, access logging switched off), and if you do not choose "Electric" it is never downloaded. The charging stations nearby or along the trip are found by the phone: no data is sent.
Road distances and times, and maps of the area (from version 3.0.0). The road distances and driving times to the filling stations and the route in "Plan a trip" are worked out by the phone. To do so, when you open the app and when you change area, the app downloads from our server the road network blocks and the maps of the area, plus the layer of main roads; when you plan a trip, also those along the route. If you look at the map outside the area already downloaded, the app asks our server for the maps of the part you are looking at, under the same rules. These are public files, the same for everyone, taken from OpenStreetMap (© OpenStreetMap contributors, ODbL 1.0 licence), never from third-party sites, and they stay on the phone until the monthly update, so the map and the roads also work without a connection. Your location, the starting point and the destination are never sent: the requests contain only the name of the file. As with any download, the server receives the IP address of the connection, which is needed to deliver the files, but for these files access logging is switched off: we keep neither the IP address nor any identifier. At most, the area you are in could be inferred from the files requested, and we do not keep it. Without a connection the app downloads nothing and uses what is already on the phone.
Geo Note reminds you of a note when you arrive at or leave a place, even with the app closed. To do so it asks for "Always" location (Android: "Allow all the time"), and only after you save your first active note, explaining why first. Location is used only for these reminders: your phone's system watches the circles of your active notes and wakes the app when you enter or leave one; on Android, in "On time" mode, a service with an always-visible notification also checks the location at intervals. All of this is processed and stored on the phone only: places, notes and reminder history stay in the app's database, no route is recorded, and your location is never sent to us or anyone else. To determine it, the phone uses its own location service, which may rely on Apple's or Google's services as described above for Puntina. If you search for an address, the search is done by the system's service (Apple on iPhone, Google or the manufacturer on Android): the text you type goes through them, under their policies, and the app says so below the search field.
Geo Note's maps are OpenStreetMap data that the app downloads from our own server, never from third-party sites. To draw the map, the app requests the pieces of the area you are looking at: the request reveals only that area to our server and, as with any download, the IP address of the connection, but for the maps access logging is switched off and this information is not kept. A place can reach Geo Note from another app (for example from Pin Drop) only when you choose it with "Share"; coordinates leave the app only when you tap "Open in Maps", which passes them to the maps app you choose. Reminders are local notifications, scheduled by the phone, and buying the Pro version follows the rules described below.
Full Freezer lets you dictate what you put in the freezer. The microphone is on only while you are dictating, and we never receive your voice or the text. From version 1.0.1 speech is recognised on the phone only, using the system's on-device speech recognition: your voice is not sent to Apple or Google; if your phone does not offer it, dictation is unavailable and the text field remains. In version 1.0.0 dictation uses the operating system's speech recognition service, which may process your voice on Apple's or Google's servers under their own privacy policies.
Buying and verifying the Pro version
The Pro version is purchased entirely on Google Play, if you use Android, or on the App Store, if you use iPhone. We neither receive nor process your payment data: the card, the billing details and the purchaser's identity stay with Google or Apple, which act as independent controllers. See Google's privacy policy and Apple's.
On Android, to sell the Pro version, the app includes Google Play's official purchasing library (Google Play Billing), which Google requires from anyone selling digital content on Google Play. When you open the purchase screen or restore a purchase, this library talks directly to Google Play and may send Google technical information about how the purchasing service is working. That data goes to Google, which processes it as an independent controller under its own privacy policy: we do not receive it. It is the only third-party component of the apps that communicates with the outside world, and it is tied to purchasing alone.
On iPhone, for purchases, the app communicates with no server of ours: the phone itself verifies the purchase with Apple, and we receive nothing. What follows, up to and including the transfer code, applies to Android only.
On Android, in order to recognise a valid purchase, and to stop one licence being reused on an unlimited number of devices, the app communicates with a server of ours. The data processed at that stage is:

We do not process your email address, your name, your Google account or your Apple ID. Our purchase records contain no data capable of identifying you: they contain a random code and the proof that a valid purchase corresponds to it.

Transfer code
If you change both phone and Google account, the app can generate a temporary code to move the licence to the new device. The code is random, expires after seven days, can be used only once and is linked solely to the installation identifier. It contains and reveals no personal data.
No usage analytics
The apps contain no analytics tools (Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics or equivalents), collect no statistics on how you use them, do not record the screens you open, and contain no advertising and no advertising identifiers. The only exceptions to the principle that "your data stays on your phone" are buying the Pro version (or, in Risparmia Benzina Gasolio, the optional support purchase) and, in Risparmia Benzina Gasolio, the price reports and warnings you choose to send, as described above: downloading the price file and the charging-station file sends none of your data, the address search is done by the phone's maps service, and the maps of Geo Note and Risparmia Benzina Gasolio, like the latter's road network blocks, can reveal to our server at most the area, which is not kept.
5. Who we share data with
Data is never sold, transferred or disclosed to third parties for commercial purposes. The following may access it, to the extent necessary to deliver the service:
- The hosting provider of the website, of the licence server, of the fuel price file and of the charging-station file, of the price-report service, of the maps of Geo Note and Risparmia Benzina Gasolio and of the latter's road network blocks, acting as a processor under Article 28 of the Regulation. The servers are located in the European Union.
- Google Ireland Limited, as an independent controller, for everything concerning distribution of the app and purchases on the Play Store.
- Apple Distribution International Ltd, as an independent controller, for everything concerning distribution of the app and purchases on the App Store.
- The email service provider through which messages sent from the contact form pass.
- Public authorities, where disclosure is required by law or by an order of the authorities.
6. Transfers outside the European Economic Area
Processing normally takes place within the European Union. Verifying purchases involves a query to Google's or Apple's systems, which may process data in the United States as well: that transfer relies on the European Commission's adequacy decision on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and, in the alternative, on the standard contractual clauses adopted by the Commission.
7. Automated decision-making
We carry out no profiling and no automated decision-making producing legal effects concerning you or similarly significantly affecting you, within the meaning of Article 22 of the Regulation.
8. Your rights
Within the limits of Articles 15 to 22 of the Regulation you have the right to:
- know whether we process data concerning you and obtain a copy of it (access);
- have inaccurate data corrected and incomplete data completed (rectification);
- obtain erasure of the data, where no obligation to retain it applies;
- ask for processing to be restricted, pending a verification;
- object to processing based on legitimate interest;
- receive the data in a structured, machine-readable format (portability);
- withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.
A practical limit, stated plainly. Our purchase records hold no data capable of identifying you: if you write asking for access or erasure, we cannot link your request to a row in that register unless you give us the installation identifier or the Google Play order number. This is the situation contemplated by Article 11 of the Regulation. Give us those references and we will proceed. The same applies to Risparmia Benzina Gasolio's price reports, with one difference: the code is stored only in encrypted form and everything deletes itself after 48 hours.
Requests should be sent to info@smp-digital.it. We reply without undue delay and in any case within one month, extendable by two months in complex cases, with notice to you.
9. Complaint to a supervisory authority
If you consider that the processing of your data infringes the Regulation you may lodge a complaint with the Italian Garante per la protezione dei dati personali, Piazza Venezia 11, 00187 Rome — garanteprivacy.it — or bring court proceedings. If you live in another EU Member State you may instead approach the supervisory authority of your own country.
10. Children
Neither the apps nor the website are aimed specifically at children, and we do not knowingly collect data of children under fourteen. If you believe a child has sent us personal data through the contact form, write to us and we will delete it.
11. Changes
This policy may be updated to reflect changes in the service or in the law. The version in force is always the one published at this address, with the date of last update shown at the top of the page. Substantial changes affecting consent-based processing will be communicated to you before they take effect.
